Gordan Maras, minister of entrepreneurship

After four years of economic crisis, it seems that negative trends among Croatian trades and crafts have been stopped, so for the first time since 2008 the number of opened sole proprietorships in the first half of the year topped the number of the closed ones (by 404), according to the latest information from the relevant ministry. On the occasion of first six months of his term, minister of entrepreneurship G. Maras said the number of employees in this segment increased by 6,300. He said the law about entrepreneurship would be amended in the autumn, introducing some improvements (for example, sole proprietors will no longer need to pledge all their assets for their business).
