Zeljko Rohatinski, HNB governor

According to the central bank’s June Bulletin, the Croatian GDP will contract this year by 1.6% in real terms, and this is the last projection during now former governor Rohatinski’s term. In April, HNB projected a slowdown by 1%. It accounted for this with several factors, primarily unfavourable trends in the international surrounding, affecting negatively Croatian export and investments. The April inflation rate increased in March and April to 2% and 2.6%, respectively. Inflation is expected to increase by the end of the year, as a result of administrative decisions relating to prices of electricity and natural gas.
